The End is Near

Doesn't this title sound threatening? But it is true. No, not the end of the world (although that could happen whenever God sees fit) but the end of another calendar year. Many use the approaching end as a time for reflection on the past few months, taking inventory of oneself, and learning from the past.

But it can also be said, "The beginning is near," meaning the beginning of another calendar year. I don't know about you, but I have always found it rather exciting to gather in two or three new calendars in anticipation for what is to come. This is a great time to make plans and look hopefully for the future. I like the kind that has a little block in which you can write down what you schedule for the coming days.

Looking back and looking forward  both are helpful to us as we look within. End or beginning, it a wonderful time to be alive.
