Faith at Work

We know that James taught that faith without works is dead. Being a follower of Christ includes doing good unto others. Our faith requires that. Good works lead others to glorify God (Matthew 5:16).

The other day I visited a sick brother. His big lawn was well trimmed and I asked who cut the yard. I thought maybe his wife did. He couldn't.  She said a big tree fell into their yard and prevented it getting cut. But one morning they saw a man cutting up the fallen tree and then mowing the big lawn. Who did it? Another brother in the Lord. Nobody asked him to do it. He just did it. I don't know what you would call it, but to me this was a demonstration of faith at work.

My visit blessed me more than the others. I saw "Christ in you."
