How Do I Know I Love God?

Some would say know they love God because they feel it down deep inside. Come on, please! Surely we have gone beyond that kind of subjective concept of love. Love is not some gushy warm emotion that makes you feel good.

To know whether or not you love God you have to become acquainted with His commandments. Why? Because Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John. 14: 15). John wrote, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments" (1 John. 5: 3). Until you obey God you do not have a measure of your love for Him.

How do we find out what His commandments are? There is only only way and one source. You must learn the Scriptures. Then, knowing what He teaches, and doing what He teaches, you have God's own definition that you love Him. That surely is a sufficient way to know. Otherwise, you just feel good.
