I Want to go to the Sandbox

All grandparents have stories and here is one of mine. My two youngest grandchildren, (Evie who is four and Kate who is two) were playing in their sandbox with little plastic animals. Evie started burying some of them and told Kate they had died and gone to heaven.

Later Evie asked her mother, "Where is heaven?" Kate immediately responded. "It's in the sandbox."

I told that while preaching about heaven making the point that heaven is a real place (John 14:1-4) and not just a state of mind as some have suggested. It is a spiritual place to be sure but an actual place nonetheless. After the service one good brother said to me, "I sure want to go to the sandbox."

That doubtless is the goal of all who believe the Word. Nothing else matters if we miss the sandbox.
