| Under One; Released From Two | ||
| Even though we are
under grace, we are also under the law of Christ, the perfect law of
liberty, the truth that makes us free. While under His law we as
Christians have also been delivered from two others laws. One is the law
of Moses (the Gentiles were never under that law), and the law of sin and
death (Romans 8:2,3). The law of sin and death is simply stated: you sin,
you die spiritually. In Christ we are made free from this law. Even though
we sin we can be made spiritually alive by coming to Him. The wages of sin
need not be suffered (Romans 6:23). This is why His law is called the law
of liberty. His law must be obeyed if we benefit from it. It is a law of grace, mercy and love for man by God, and also a law of faith and obedience on the part of man. By this law we shall be judged (John 12:48). | ||
