The Bible often provides easily understood illustrations of the points of truth presented. Such is the case with the words of Isaiah when he was warning Judah they could not rely on Egypt for protection from destruction because of their unfaithfulness to God. He said they were like a man whose bed was too short and his covers too narrow (Isaiah 28:20). Most of us can readily understand the discomfort of this situation. So it is when any nation or individual attemps to survive when God is left out.
