A Promised Blessing |
||
Christians have the
promise of the things God sees that we need in life. In that matchless
sermon of Jesus (Matt. 6: 25-34) we have the conditional promise that if
we seek first things first, which means the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, His church and His commandments, we shall have God's
provision.
We believe in the providence of God even though we do not contend we understand it and how it operates. But He has assured us of it. We are not promised all we want, nor all we think we need. But in the infinite wisdom of God, He shall see to it that we have the provision of the needs of this life. Again, is this not something that makes being a Christian worthwhile in the here and now? David wrote, "I have been young and now am old. Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread" (Psalm 37: 25). |
