Afraid of a Shadow? |
||
David wrote,
"...yea, though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death I
will fear not evil..." Death is real. But David considered it but a
harmless shadow. Shadows have no real substance and cannot harm you. So
why be afraid of it? What causes the shadow might be threatening but not
the shadow. And death only throws out a shadow.
Christ has gone through the valley before us. Therefore we can have confidence that we will survive the onslaught of physical death because He did. He arose from the grave and has promised we shall also. That surely reduces our fear of what is inevitable. Especially since He is with us.
