After the Will of Your God |
||
What a magnificent
phrase is the title! The king of Persia gave Ezra authority to return
Palestine and also provided him with much material wealth for his work.
There were certain things to be done with the money that was given, but
after those things were accomplished there would be an amount left over.
It was to be used responsibly. The standard was "the will of your
God" (Ezra 7: 18).
How many good things would be done, evil things resisted, lives improved, and righteousness prevail if people had this disposition to follow that rule. One great barrier to God's will prevailing among men is man's rebellious ignorance of God's will. Over and over we encounter those who dismiss God from their lives and set themselves up as judge and jury.
