Any Honest Friends? |
||
It may be too much
to expect people to learn from the past. That requires humility and
wisdom; commodities that are scarce in our country today. When you study
the history of Israel you cannot miss seeing how corrupt and evil leaders
contributed to the corruption and evil of the nation at large. Priests,
princes, pastors, prophets led the people into defiance of God.
Our system theoretically calls for the people to select their leaders. A corrupt people will select corrupt leaders. It seems regardless of political party we have an abundance of corruption in our government. As we are entering a new national administration we repeatedly hear of corrupt people surrounding the new president. His history is one of association with those suspect of wrongdoing. Surely, somewhere, he might find an honest friend to serve our country. Admittedly, it will be difficult; maybe impossible. The nation suffers under such leadership (Proverbs 14: 34). |
