Be Glad for Them |
||
Jealousy may keep
one from rejoicing over the good fortune of others. Possibly one reason
some cannot be truly glad that another has received good fortune and
prosperity is because they wish it had happened to them. Certainly, it is
not wrong that we want good things to come our way. But it is wrong to
fail to be glad when good things come the way of others. "Rejoice
with them that do rejoice," (Rom. 12: 15).
Rather than being jealous and envious we ought to rejoice when others succeed in what is right and honorable. Whether one succeeds in some worthy goal or accomplishment, or whether in the greater realm of becoming and being a Christian, we ought to be made glad when things go well for others. Such is the Christian's way of doing things. This is the way Christians think about things. |
