Romans 10: 9,10
teaches there is a confession we make in order to be saved. When we come
to Christ we obviously acknowledge we are in sin but our sin is not what
we confess. We confess Christ that He is the Son of God as did the
Ethiopian in Acts 8: 37 before he was baptized.
After all, He is the foundation of the church (Matthew 6: 16-18) and the Savior of it (Ephesians 5:23). Without Him there would be no salvation (Acts 4: 12). We confess our faith, trust and confidence in Christ as the Son of the living and true God. Eventually everyone will confess Christ (Phil. 2: 11; Romans 14: 11). But only those who confess Him in this life will be saved.
