Count Your Blessings |
||
You have heard this
admonition to "count your blessings" many times. When you
consider the troubles, heartaches, setbacks, tragedies that invade the
lives of so many, you begin to wonder why God has been so good to you.
Your heart suffers and bleeds for those in distress and so often you are
helpless to be of assistance.
Without going into detail, especially when unexplainable tragedies hurt brethren, we are provoked to ask why. We cannot always know why. But this does not diminish our grief at the hurt others suffer. With every bad news that comes to our attention we should pause long enough to pray for those who hurt, and thank God for every blessing we have. The burdens of man make what we sometimes consider a problem pale into insignificance. Lord help us. |
