Deliver Me |

| "Deliver me, O
Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man" (Psalm
140: 1). A person who seeks peace can certainly pray such a prayer.
Especially is it appropriate and timely in a society where evil and
violent people seem to be in abundance. You never know when some deranged
and wicked creature is going to strike next. It may be at your home, on
the highway, in the stores, on the street, or just about anywhere.
As long as the influence of the devil continues and the doctrines of power and greed dominate people's lives we will encounter such evil and violent people. But the child of God looks to God for His providential protection and seeks to escape the havoc some would do against him. But we have to be on guard and alert against such persons. God uses various means to protect us. We must cooperate with Him in this work. |
