The Dignity of Work |
||
Work is not a part
of the judgment against man because of the sin of Adam. Adam had a job to
keep and dress the garden before he sinned . His work was made more
difficult, however, because of the ravages of sin. But work is honorable.
He labored making tents when he was traveling about preaching the gospel.
He taught that those who would not work should not eat. Furthermore, he
said he was an example to follow in this respect of work. (2 Thessalonians
3: 7- 9). Our Lord worked and the Father worked. It is God's will that we
also work.
Some are unfortunate and cannot work because of their misfortune. Occasionally, some will not have opportunity to work for a period of time. But the dignity of work remains. The satisfaction of working is a blessing. |
