Do We Really Want an Encounter With God? |
||
We are aware that
many say they want an encounter with the Lord and even expect it. Some say
they have had it. What they claim is some kind of unexplainable direct
operation of the Holy Spirit by which the Lord shows them special favor.
But the Lord does not offer such as this. But that does not deter their
claims and desires.
Don't words have meaning anymore? Not to liberals! They use words whatever way they choose to fit their agenda. Changing the meaning to accommodate themselves is a common practice. What does the word "encounter" mean?" It means a violent clash between two hostile factions, to meet as adversaries and enemies. The devil is our adversary (1 Peter 5:8); not the Lord. Are you sure you want an "encounter" with God? |
