Double Standard |
||
If a lawyer or real
estate salesman finds a flaw in the title of your property that would
affect your ownership, but does not warn you about it, he has not done his
duty toward you. He should tell you.
If a doctor examines you and discovers an illness that needs attention but says nothing to you about it, would you think he was derelict in his duty? If your banker allows you accounts to become so confused and mixed up that you lose your money but does not tell you because it might hurt your feelings, are you satisfied with the way he treats you? But people use a different standard when it comes to preachers. When he preaches God's Word and even warns you of sin, why do some get so angry at him as if he made the rules? Why resent the message and the messenger? He simply told you what God said. Is not that what he is supposed to do? |
