| While we all seek to
understand life, nobody does until he understands that his primary duty is
to "fear God and keep his commandments" (Eccl. 12:13). Even if
one should gain the whole world but lose his soul he profits nothing (Mark
8:36).. Life does not consist of our material possessions (actually they
belong to God and we are but stewards for a while) (Luke 12:15). Proverbs
12:28, "In the way of righteousness is life."
We must ask ourselves what do we hold as our priorities. This basic and fundamental truth should be the foundation of our life. Once we get this matter firmly settled in our heart and mind the rest of life becomes more understandable and we will be more inclined to follow the directions of our Creator and Judge.
