Ephesians 4:13 (NIV) |
||
This passage, when
rightly translated, shows when miraculous gifts were to cease. But the New
International Version would have us to believe they still continue. The
passage says these gifts would continue "till we all come in the
unity of the faith." This means until the full, complete, unified
body of truth is revealed. But the NIV says, "until we all reach
unity in the faith." This would mean until we are all united. Since
we are not all united, the gifts must still continue even until now and
until the end.
It is THE FAITH, the gospel system, under consideration; not man's belief. The Pentecostal influence on this perversion is quite evident as are other Calvinistic doctrines. That Biblical affirmation that all truth has been revealed is nullified if the NIV is correct. Brethren who believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Bible as the Bible affirms for itself will not subscribe to the NIV as a reliable Bible. If you have been doing that, do yourself a favor and get rid of it except as an example of man tampering with the Word of God to his own detriment. |
