Even They Had to be Convinced |
||
Christ had told His
apostles of His coming resurrection several times but they did not grasp
it. After He was raised they were told by several women who had talked
with the angels who reported His resurrection. "And their words
seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not" (Luke 24:
11).
That one would rise from the dead is so awesome that many do not accept the evidence of it even though presented to them. Even though the report was at first questioned, it soon became apparent that He had come forth from the tomb as prophesied and they were convinced. Their actions the remaining days of their lives prove they were convinced because they preached everywhere the risen Lord. |
