Finances and Sacrifice

Church finances are inseparable from the study of sacrifice. Christianity is built and maintained by sacrifices. God gave; Christ gave; the Holy Spirit gave; and we must give.

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich, " (Second Corinthians 8: 9). It is never asking "too much" to ask a Christian to sacrifice for the cause of Christ.

Could it be we have things in reverse? We ought not sacrifice our giving to the Lord so we can have other things. If anything, it must be the other way around.
