Friend and Brother for 2009

"Tis the season for making what we call "New Year's Resolutions." We are told that most people make some, carry through with them a week or so, have dropped over half of them in a couple of months, and they really don't stick. Even so, it is still good to create a good thought for the coming year even if it doesn't last as it should. May we suggest a good one.

We realize there is so much strife, hatred and ill-will in this world between nations and individuals. We can make our spot a better place by heeding Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." There are good times, hard times, bad times. But a friend stands by you at all times. Adversity does not destroy your relationship.

It takers some effort on our part, but we can be a friend and brother to others this next year even more than we may have been last year. Is not this a worthy goal and would it not be a fine resolution for 2009?
