Get a Second Opinion |
||
When we have medical
problems it is often good to let more than one doctor consider it.
Sometimes one can detect something another may overlook. Even when we need
advice regarding matters that are important to us, and we are open to what
someone in whom we trust might think about it, we ask them, even more than
one, and then draw our own conclusions. It is like the old saying,
"Too minds are better than one."
Solomon spoke such words of wisdom many years ago. "Where no counsel is, the people fail: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11: 14). We should not reach the point where we think nobody knows anything but us and then refuse to consider what others think. If we be so fortunate as to have more than one to advise with us, it is wisdom to "get a second opinion." |
