Given or Yet to Come? |
||
In Genesis fifteen
through seventeen God gave promises to Abraham including the "land
promise." There are some even today who think Christ will return and
establish an earthly kingdom. They say this "land promise" was
never fulfilled and will be when He returns. But what did Joshua say about
that? "There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had
spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass... that not thing hath
failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning
you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed
thereof" (Joshua 21:45; 23:14). Maybe the speculators of today know
more than Joshua did, but I doubt it.
To think that the beginning of the modern-day Israel in 1948 is the beginning of the fulfillment is to believe something contrary to the Scriptures. Israel had it; lost it; and God kept His Word. |
