God Was Hard on False Prophets |
||
"But the
prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not
commanded him to speak, or shall speak in the name of other gods, even
that prophet shall die" (Deut. 18: 10). To say God has said something
when He has not is serious. Those who try to change God's doctrine to fit
man ought take note. They misrepresent God and teach falsely. They are
held guilty and will suffer punishment.
We hear preachers talking so much about what God told them, what God said, some special revelation which is not found in God's Word. Do they not realize they seal their own doom as well as those they mislead? Do they even care? What possesses a person to claim to speak God's Word when God has never said anything like what is being taught? |
