Good Health |
||
John wished good
health and prosperity for Gaius. When does the soul prosper? It
presupposes regeneration and forgiveness by obedience to the gospel. It
means a saved relationship with Christ and a constant growth in spiritual
qualities. It means growing in grace and knowledge and magnifying the name
of Christ by living a godly life. It means treating others justly and
living so others can see Christ in us. It means to walk in truth, that is,
according to the teaching of the Bible. Do you prosper in good health?
Third John is a very unique short epistle that emphasizes relationship with Christ and brethren. Gaius was a living demonstration of the "new commandment" to love one another. We can be the same if we will try. |
