The Good Man |
||
Psalm 112 discusses
the man that fears the Lord and he is called a good man. One of the
characteristics of this good man is expressed in verse seven. "He
shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the
Lord."
Bad news comes from time to time. But we cannot live in the dread and fear of bad news. The good man will not be shaken by bad news. He knows that God will provide and he shall be able to handle whatever comes his way. This is because he puts his trust in God. This does not mean that bad things have no effect upon him. They do. But the good man lives his life in confidence and assurance that God will not allow more to fall upon him than he can manage (1 Cor. 10: 13). Therefore, good people are not defeated by bad things. |
