Good Rule for Youth

"And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth" (Mark 10: 20).

Having asked the most important question one can ask, "Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life, " he was told by Christ to obey the commandments. This man had done this since the days of his youth.

Even though he was still lacking, he had followed a path of life that was most commendable. How much better our world would be if older people would teach and encourage the youth to do likewise.

As we read more we find this man needed to dispose of his possessions and do good to others. Unwilling to do that, he went away grieved. What a shame! He had started so well in youth only to miss the eternal life he sought.
