the title according to my dictionary is "society at the local
level." If you are looking for the cause of the decline of the
morality and worth of the American nation take a look at the grassroots.
Compare that with the conditions of Northern Israel and Judah of
long ago. A striking and disconcerting similarity.
Yes, the prophets, princes, pastors and priests were of the lowest caliber. But why were these allowed to lead? It was because the majority of the people were of that same low level. They placed these lousy leaders in position and the leaders reflected the low level of the people. The removal of vile leadership is always in order. But it doesn't do much good when the people who select the leaders are as vile as the ones they choose. And what happened to a nation like that? |
