He Accepted the Evidence |
||
The Bible student is
acquainted with the man named Nicodemus to whom Our Lord taught the lesson
concerning the necessity of being born again. Why did Nicodemus listen to
what Jesus taught him? It was because he was already convinced that Jesus
was from God.
What had persuaded him that Jesus was from God? It was because of the irrefutable evidence he had been privileged to observe. "No man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." (John 4: 2). There is so much in the discussion between Jesus and Nicodemus that deserves our attention. But the point which we make now is to see the confidence Nicodemus had in Jesus that caused him to want to hear His Word. He was wise enough to accept the evidence concerning His identity. God has given us abundant evidence that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God. Will we accept it? |
