He Called Him "Lord" |
||
The thief who was
crucified with Jesus raises many questions for us for which specific
answers are not given. But these questions arise from facts that we do
know. Yesterday we noted the commendable words from the thief that
declared the innocence of Jesus even when most were forsaking him and
accusing him.
Today, take note that the thief called Jesus, "Lord." He recognized Him as his Master. Just how and when the thief had learned this we are not told, although the preaching of Christ was widespread by John the Baptist and the apostles. But he did believe in Him. If people today would allow Jesus to be their Lord, and would obey His voice, what a different world our world would be. That thief would doubtless have become one of the first Chistians had he lived. |
