He Did as Commanded |
||
Two of the three
deportations into captivity had taken place. The final one was coming.
Ezekiel, already in captivity, warned Israel of God's coming judgment and
the destruction of Jerusalem. Painful as it was to him to do this, and as
upsetting it would be to his fellow countrymen to hear it, he did as he
was commanded even though Israel rejected his message.
What more can one do in service to God that pleases God than what Ezekiel did in carrying out his commission? What more can you and I do to show our love and loyalty to God in the midst of a wicked generation than to do likewise? God's judgment is coming and it is always justified. Can it be said of us, "He did as he was commanded?" We best be about the task of knowing and doing the Father's will through Christ. |
