He Doesn't Scare Me |

| Maybe he doesn't.
But it should be frightening to you to realize that God who loves and
provides salvation for you is also a God of justice and wrath. Have you
not read in the Scriptures how He chastens those who choose to defy His
will?
You may be one of these smart-aleck people who think they can defy God and get away with it. But the day of reckoning will come and you will surely wish you had taken note of the terror of the Lord of which Paul writes in Second Corinthians 5: 11. His wrath does not minimize His mercy but magnifies His justice. God simply does not look upon righteousness and unrighteousness without distinction like some foolish people do. We are wise to consider how God motivates us to do right by telling us of His nature that includes "the terror of the Lord." |
