He Messes Up Everything |
||
James wrote, "A
double minded man is unstable in all his ways" (James 1: 8). How do
you describe a "double minded man?" He is two-faced, talks out
of both sides of his mouth, says one thing today and something different
and contradictory tomorrow, can never be expected to stand for anything
because he is shifty and vacillates. You soon get the idea that such a
creature is just about as unworthy of confidence as could be.
He really does not know what he believes or where he stands and simply "goes with the flow" that he thinks will be to his advantage. I guess I could describe him best as politician or a liberal clergyman. He messes up everything he touches. How different is he from that stalwart and faithful child of God who is loyal and faithful to the certainty of His Word regardless of the consequences. That person stands like a "Gibraltar" and never wavers in the winds of environment or where the majority goes. |
