He Started Out Badly |
||
He was twenty one
years old when he began to reign. Scripture says, "And he did that
which was evil in the eyes of the Lord..." (Jeremiah 52: 2). This
speaks of Zedekiah, the last man to sit on the earthly throne of Judah. It
would not be long before he would be taken in Babylonian captivity after
his eyes were put out and his children slain. He reaped the wrath of God
because he began badly and never turned from it. What a waste!
We often hear of those who start out poorly. But along the way they learn the error of their path and turn to God then live a good life. It is possible for anyone, regardless of how stained, to be washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. But a person cannot continue in his wicked ways and expect to enjoy the blessings God offers. Poor deluded, deceived, deranged and devilish Zedekiah! He has not been the last the suffer a similar end. Don't let it happen to you! |
