He Was Sent |
||
One of the major
themes of the book of John on the life of Christ is that Christ was sent
by the Father. He repeatedly acknowledged He came to do the will of the
One who sent Him. This claim was one of the reasons He faced such
opposition from the Jews because they resented such a claim. But this fact
established His authority even yet remains the reason all men ought to
give heed to His doctrine.
In Hebrews 3: 1 He is identified as the Apostle (one sent). The message of salvation that He brought and delivered unto men is the message of Deity to sinful humanity how salvation can be ours here and forever. Our Lord left the portals of heavenly glory, took on the form of humanity, lived a perfect life and did those things the Father determined to provide our salvation. So when we do the will of the Christ we are doing the will of Deity. Blessedness will always be the result for those who obey. |
