Help From Trouble |
||
It does not need
long arguing to maintain that there are many forms of trouble that come
into our lives. Often it is very serious while at other times we can
handle it reasonably well. But there are those times when we need help. We
seek help from those around us and we are fortunate if they can provide
for us what we need physically, mentally and spiritually. But we all are
limited in what we can do to relieve the troubles common to man.
The psalmist recognized the real source of help. Psalm 60: 11, "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man." This does not dismiss help we give each other, but affirms there is help available to us from a higher power if we be people of God. Through the providence of God we can overcome and endure (First Corinthians 10: 13). So if you face trouble be encouraged that you can defeat it rather than be defeated by it and give glory to God. |
