The Holy Spirit Will Tell You |

| Luke 12: 12,
"For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to
say." This promise was given to the apostles as they would go about
the task of preaching the gospel. They would be guided directly by the
Holy Spirit (John 14, 15, 16). But this was not promised to every
Christian then or now.
Some claim to be directly led by the Holy Spirit today. They claim the Holy Spirit speaks to them like He did the apostles. It is noteworthy that those who make such claims do not agree with each other in their message. Is the Holy Spirit confused and sending contradictory messages? Or are the claims bogus? We are led by the Spirit by through the Word given by the Spirit. That Word is embodied in the all-sufficient Scripture (2 Tim. 3: 16, 17). All truth has been revealed and is in Scripture. To be led by the Spirit is to conform to the teaching He has given. |
