How Do You Account For It? |
||
Even when Paul was
in prison, having suffered so much for the cause of Christ, he admonished
brethren to rejoice. Repeatedly (18 times) in the Philippian epistle he
uses the terms joy, rejoice, rejoicing. How could he do that? Notice he
often said, "Rejoice in the Lord." The difference was he and
brethren were "in the Lord." That's where salvation is (2 Tim.
2:10).
In spite of what hardship encountered in life the blessings "in the Lord" surpass them. He notes what was real gain to him further in the second chapter. Read Romans 8:18 for the same idea. As with him, so with us if we be faithful "in the Lord." So brethren, let us rejoice. We have reason. |
