How Ridiculous is Duplicity |
||
CONTRADICTORY
DOUBLETALK! That is how the dictionary defines duplicity. Paul described
in in Romans 2. "Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest not
thyself? Thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou
that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery?
Thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?" (Romans 2:
21, 22). Earlier he wrote, "Therefore thou are inexcusable, O man,
whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou
condemnest thyself: for thou doest the same things" (Romans 2: 1).
Talk one way but walk another! That is duplicity.
Some people talk love but do not obey. They talk work but seldom work for the Lord. Others soon discover that stain of hypocrisy and your influence is destroyed. We show ourselves ridiculous being this way. |
