Ignorant Christians |
||
It was written to
Christians. They did not have "the knowledge of God" (First
Corinthians 15: 34). They were not ignorant because they were Christians.
They were just shameful Christians. They had come to Christ but evidently
were not following in His steps due to ignorance.
How could this be? It was a failure to grow. How could it be corrected? "Awake to righteousness and sin not," the passage prescribes. To do this they must have knowledge of God and His will. No other way exists. Paul said this was a shameful state. But this was not said just to condemn and rebuke but to motivate them to do better and be better. You and I would profit spiritually if we would also give heed to this edifying admonition. Might as well start today. |
