It Is For Us |

In Romans chapter
four Paul wrote concerning the system by which God justified Abraham. But
his words were not merely to praise Abraham but they were for our benefit.
Abraham was justified by a system that included God's grace and Abraham's
obedient faith. Abraham partook of the benefits of God's grace by
believing and obeying. We are justified before God the same way in
principle.
Paul's remarks about Abraham are a portion of the revelation of the system of salvation that God has provided for sinful man. We are saved by God's grace, mercy and love. We are saved by the blood and resurrection of Christ. We come to benefit from what God has done when we obey His law to obey the gospel, including being baptized for the remission of sins where we reach that saving blood (Romans 6: 3,4). |
