Joshua Took All the Land |
||
Those who say God
will give Palestine back to Israel fail to accept what is said of the work
of Joshua (Joshua 11: 23). He left nothing undone of all that the Lord
commanded Moses with one grave and monumental exception. Even though
Joshua did conquer all the land he did not drive out the enemies as God
instructed. Time and again we read where the people of Canaan remained
among the Israelites and proved to be a thorn in their side throughout
their history.
The reason God wanted all the former occupants driven out was because God knew their influence on Israel would be detrimental. It proved to be just that. Leading Israel into sin they caused Israel to eventually lose the land completely. And there is no promise they shall have it as their own ever again. God knew it was foolish to compromise with those who are the enemies of truth. |
