Keep It Straight |
||
There is no doubt
that mankind suffers because of sin. But let us keep it straight for whose
sins we are accountable. We are not GUILTY of the sins of those who have
gone before us, nor are we GUILTY of the sins others commit. We may well
suffer as a consequence of the sins of others, but that does not impose
GUILT. We are GUILTY of the sins we commit. Remember, "all have
sinned," (Rom. 3: 23).
The sin of Adam brought sin into the world and since that time "for that all have sinned" (Rom. 5: 12). So the doctrine of inherited sin, born in sin, GUILTY of the sins of ancestors, all of that is false. But we shall give answer to God what we do in this life (2 Corinthians 5: 10). And we cannot escape GUILT by attempting to blame others because of the sins we have done anymore than we can be held accountable for the sins others have done. |
