Keep Plowing |
||
Luke 9: 62, "No
man, having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the
kingdom of God." The illustration is relatively simple. Once a man
starts to plow he should not quit, not look back, lest he no longer plow a
straight furrow. Jesus used this to illustrate the necessity of remaining
faithful in service to God once you have begun. Turning back makes one
unfit for heaven.
The danger of backsliding is real or the Lord would never have taught such a lesson as this one. We are the targets of the devil's conspiracy to subvert our souls. He can do it if we are not alert. But he cannot do it without our cooperation with him. With Christ we have all we need to win the fight and be victorious of everything against us. Dear reader, can I persuade you to take the Lord's words to heart? Take the plow, plow hard and straight, and keep going. |
