Lambs Among Wolves

Luke 10: 3, "Go your ways, behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves." Such was the charge of Jesus to His disciples as they embarked on their task of teaching the people the will of the Lord. It also served as a warning to them what they might expect as they went from place to place. They would encounter those who would oppose them and seek their destruction.

Has it really changed? Is it not that way even now? Are there not those who bitterly resent anything related to Christ and who fight viciously to restrict and dispose of those who follow His teaching? In fact, this general disposition toward Christians seems to be growing in magnitude and degree.

But that reality did not stop His disciples from doing their duty. It is obligatory that we do not let such things cause us to withdraw and retreat from serving the Lord faithfully also.
