Man's Thoughts or God's Command

You might want to hear a brief comment about Naaman before continuing (Category 5; Lesson 154). Naaman was seeking healing but "thought" it would be accomplished his way. He was wrong. It was not until he submitted to the way God instructed that he was benefited (2 Kings 5).

Same thing is true now concerning our spiritual salvation. Men have busied themselves "thinking" they would be saved this way, that way, some other way, but not until man obeys God's commands will he be saved.

So what is to be gained by holding on to our "thinking" when God's way of faith, repentance, confession of Christ and baptism into Christ for the remission of sins is the only way?
