Natural and Spiritual |
||
Toward the end of
First Corinthians the second chapter Paul mentions the natural man and the
spiritual. The will of God has not been given to men through natural
learning, experiences, observations or being taught by others. It was
given by revelation to inspired men. The spiritual man is the inspired man
that accepts God's revelation. The natural man is uninspired nor accepts
what God has revealed.
The apostles and prophets received God's revelation and are the spiritual Paul mentions. We are spiritual in the sense that we accept the revelation God gave through inspired men. But nobody could ever know God's will without His revelation. Paul received God's revelation. Therefore what he taught is of God and authoritative. We must accept his teaching as inspired of God. |
