When Ahab accused
Elijah of being the trouble maker of Israel Elijah did not accept that
accusation but proceeded to tell Ahab who was the real trouble maker and
why (First Kings 18:17, 18). Elijah had been telling the people of their
sins and how out of step they were with God. Of course, those who wanted
to go their own way considered Elijah a pest.
But the real problem was with Ahab and others who defied God's law. It has been that way since Eden and it is that way now. They had ceased to follow the commandments of the Lord and followed Baal. So many today have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and are following their own false gods. But they think others who reject that are trouble makers. Better to be God's "trouble maker" than the devil's servant like Ahab. |
