Not Only Her Faith Was Great |
||
Jesus commended the
Syrophoenician woman for her great faith (Matthew 15). She was seeking a
cure and relief for her daughter who was tormented by a demon that
possessed her body. It is obvious that because of her faith the Lord
healed the daughter. But consider something else about this notable Bible
woman.
At first Jesus did not heed her plea because she was a Gentile and at this time His mission was to the Jew. But evidently her faith impressed the Lord that He performed that which the woman sought. Consider her persistence and unwillingness to give up on what she needed. Consider the depth of her love for her child. More than faith is to be commended in this woman. She recognized that Christ could heal and sought His help. |
